Jewish New Year
Happy Birthday world! At the beginning of a new school year it is lovely to be able to join in with the Jewish New Year celebration of Rosh Hashanah. Form 1 & Form 2 listened to the blessings of thanksgiving for apple trees and all living things before dipping their apple in honey and wishing each other 'Chag Sameach' - happy holiday. Everyone learned how saying 'Teshuva' is more than forgiving someone but a reminder to make good choices - 'Return to your best self!' Jewish people tell the story of 'Jonah & the Whale' to demonstrate this. Rosh Hashanah is also a time for promises and after deciding what they could improve on this year they said, 'I will be, the best me I can be!'
