"Leadership and management demonstrate good skills and knowledge, and fulfil their responsibilities effectively, so that the other standards are consistently met and they actively promote the well-being of the pupils." - ISI Inspector, December 2017
Senior Management Team
The Senior Management Team works closely with our Headmistress, Mrs Joiner. Together, the team runs the school to ensure every child from the nursery right through to Year 6 gets the most out of each day that they possibly can. All decisions about how the curriculum is designed and taught are discussed and agreed by the Senior Management Team before being disseminated to the rest of the teaching and non-teaching staff.
The Senior Management team is made up of:
- Mrs K Joiner (Headmistress)
- Mrs S Wade (Deputy Head)
- Mrs R Gibb (Head of Early Years)
- Mr A Whitaker (Bursar)
Board of Trustees
Hilden Oaks was founded in 1919 and has been a Charitable Education Trust since 1965. Our charitable status means that when the school generates a surplus of income over expenditure, that entire surplus is re-invested in the School to improve its facilities and teaching. The Board of Trustees works closely with the Headmistress and is responsible for determining the overall aims, ethos and conduct of the school.
The Trustees do not benefit financially from their role in school and are appointed because they have an expertise that they are willing to volunteer and put at the disposal of the school. Our Trustees share a sympathy and wholehearted commitment to the school and its values. At present the school has eleven Trustees, including the Chair, Mr Derick Walker.
Current trustees include
Mrs Linda Alexander
Mrs Wendy Carey Mr Daniel Eaton
Mr Will Faure Walker
Mrs Sarah Hall
Mr Rick McHattie
Mrs Emma Pocock
Mrs Sue Robertson
Mr Colin Swainson
Mr Derick Walker (Chair)
Dr Ben Waugh
Mrs Janet Whitaker
Trustees of Hilden Oaks School include past and present parents and active community members from in and around Tonbridge. We are grateful for their continuous support and help with making Hilden Oaks a better place for our children to learn and grow.
