At Hilden Oaks, we understand that choosing the right school for your child is an extremely important decision for your family and we will help and support you in any way we can. You may find it useful to look through our website and follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, to glimpse life at Hilden Oaks and discover what makes our school so outstanding.
You are, of course, warmly invited to visit the school for one of our forthcoming Open Mornings or we can arrange a personal tour with our Headmistress, Mrs Katy Joiner, at a mutually convenient time. On either occasion, you will have the opportunity to see our wonderful school ‘in action’, and meet the staff and pupils.
Our Registrar, will be your main point of contact throughout the admissions process and will ensure that everything runs as smoothly as possible.
Please contact the Registrar, Ms Angela Norman for further information, to book an Open Morning visit or to arrange a suitable appointment for a personal tour.
Following your visit, and if a place is available, the Registrar will offer your child a ‘taster day’. We will require a copy of your child’s most recent academic school report and any other supporting documentation, if appropriate. The Registrar will then arrange for parents to meet the Headmistress at the end of the day for feedback.
The Headmistress will usually give a verbal offer during her feedback meeting with parents. Occasionally, she may suggest that another ‘taster day’ would be beneficial before a decision is made.
The Registrar will make a formal offer by email within the next working day.
Nursery and Preschool
A few places are currently available for 3 - 4 year olds in our Preschool.
Prospective parents of preschool children are invited to contact the Registrar, Ms Angela Norman for further information.
For parents looking for places in our Nursery, it is likely, due to our small setting and reputation, that your child will be placed on a waiting list in the first instance. When a place becomes available, you will be invited to arrange a mutually convenient time to visit the Nursery and Preschool or to attend an Open Morning, and to meet the Headmistress, Mrs Joiner.
Following this meeting, the Registrar will make a formal offer by email within the next working day.
Admission Criteria
Places are offered to parents of children at the discretion of the Headmistress. Although Hilden Oaks Preparatory School is a non-selective school, the Headmistress will consider the extent to which a child will be able to access the School’s curriculum.
