Harvest
The school united at St.Saviour's Church for our annual Harvest Festival on Wednesday morning. We were led by Alyson Bleakley in a memorable time of bringing gifts and saying thank you for all we have to eat. Pre-School carefully presented their food, the choirs sang beautifully, musicians performed and Form 6 participated with prayers and Bible readings. Above all, it was a moment to reflect upon our 'Superkind' theme for the year as children considered that their food donations would make a difference to the lives of others in Tonbridge. Lions President Phil Jesson attended and thanked the school for our close relationship and generosity. Moments like these enable the school to reflect upon our values-based education and give working examples to the SMSC (spiritual, moral, social and cultural) aspects of our curriculum. Thank you also to our parents who supported through gifts of food and financial donations.
Thank you for all the donations for the Harvest Festival. Although Kindergarten did not attend the Harvest Festival, they showed their gratitude by sorting the gifts into groups, counted them, and discussed the different foods. This sparked a wonderful little maths conversation about size and quantity.
