10% Braver…

Drawing inspiration from our school motto ‘Kind, Brave, Brilliant’, we’re placing special emphasis on bravery this year with the launch of our ‘10% Braver’ initiative.   

But what does it mean to be 10% braver? 

Being 10% braver might mean putting your hand up when you aren't completely sure of the answer. It might mean trying something you've never tried before, speaking to someone new, asking for help, performing in front of others, persevering when something feels difficult or being willing to make a mistake in order to learn. It is about taking the next small step. 

And 10% is deliberately small. In a one-hour lesson, 10% is just six minutes. So our challenge to ourselves this year is simple: Can we be 10% braver for six minutes of every lesson?
