Children’s Mental Health Week

'This is my Place'
This week, we have celebrated Children’s Mental Health Week in school. The theme this year was 'This is my Place', encouraging a sense of belonging.
Through PSHCEE lessons, assemblies and visitors, this provided an opportunity to raise awareness of children and young people’s mental health. We enjoyed Safer Internet Day with our pupil Digital Leaders, Mrs Matthew teaching us about staying safe on the roads and Mrs Halford helping our Form 6 to learn about creating a successful business. Guiding pupils in their use of future technologies, reassuring them about rules for traffic on our roads and informing them about career choices all falls under the umbrella of developing a secure sense of self and an optimism about the future. Pupil feedback tells us that Hilden Oaks' children feel happy in their learning and in the nurturing environment we provide. 

Ending the week with our  ‘Dress to Express’ day has been the perfect way to encourage self-expression and to celebrate every individual who belongs in the Hilden Oaks family.
