Wind in the willows
Stars of the future shine in a spectacular performance
The Years 5 & 6 production of The Wind in the Willows this week showcased the singing and acting skills of the children, with many of the Year 6 children playing more than one character. It was wonderful to see so many children with beautiful singing voices and, despite the size of the space, every word was heard at the back of the auditorium. The show featured several vehicles and other ingenious items of set: Mrs Martin, who also directed and choreographed the show, created a caravan, a train and a boat (with the help of her husband) while Mr Miles created a two-sided motor car! Several parents worked together to produce super stout costumes. Miss Wort directed the music and accompanied brilliantly, while the Year 5 children composed and played some of the music themselves. All in all it was an excellent example of teamwork and the children clearly enjoyed themselves. Congratulations to everyone who was involved.
