Building on Excellence

Hilden Oaks Preparatory School has started a development project, which will bring significant benefits to the whole school.  During the summer holidays, work began on extending and developing the existing buildings to provide additional teaching space, a purpose-built area for music lessons and rehearsals, an enlarged school hall and upgraded kitchens. Additionally, there will be a new medical room and more space for small group and 1:1 teaching.

Headmistress, Mrs Katy Joiner, commented;

 “We are very much looking forward to being able to use these new facilities, which are due to be completed by Easter next year.  We have worked closely with our architect, Silver Jetty, who proposed an innovative design that not only fits our needs but also makes the best use of the space available. We are also delighted to be working with our building contractor, Baxalls, who have devised a programme of works that ensures everything can be completed with minimum disruption to our pupils’ education.

 We are proud of our inspection rating of ‘Excellent in all areas’ and these building improvements will create more space, allowing us to maintain the highest possible standards, utilising the latest teaching practices. Whilst there is no intention to increase pupil numbers, there are currently one or two vacancies in some year groups.  However, we remain committed to maintaining small class sizes to facilitate the delivery of an excellent education - helping pupils reach their full potential by nurturing a lifelong love of learning, in a small, family-friendly and child-centred environment.”
