About UsParent's PagesAdmissionsWe maintain a list of Open Days for both Independent and State Secondary Schools in the West Kent area here for the convenience of our parents.

Please keep checking back for updates to this list.
Pupils at Hilden Oaks School & Nursery in Tonbridge crossed the Channel (metaphorically speaking)today when they had a French breakfast as part of their European studies. In the run up to the breakfast, children had been learning how to order and pay in French and this was a fun way to put this learning into practice. Year 6 pupils manned the stalls selling traditional French fayre and pupils had 1 Euro to buy their breakfast at very competitive prices! 120 croissants were consumed in the space of 2 hours and a good time was had by all.
Facebook has made changes to its privacy settings again. While children should not have facebook accounts until they are aged 13, many staff and parents do have accounts. Our "Suggested Facebook Privacy Settings" document has become widely used in many schools and is available in our e-safety page. The document has been modified with the latest changes (to tagging and photo privacy) and the new version may be downloaded here

Everyone at Hilden Oaks would like to congratulate Mrs Linda Chapman on the MBE she was awarded in the New Year's Honours. Mrs Chapman taught Tennis for many years at Hilden Oaks and still visits us regularly. She was awarded her MBE for her services to the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme after 28 years involvement as a Field Officer. Well done Linda!

The Under 11 A team played in a Rounders Tournament at Rose Hill on Saturday. Competing against 12 teams they performed fantastically well narrowly missing out on the title. Despite not losing any of their matches, the tie break decider was “batters out in 1 match” and unfortunately we had more. The team got a special mention at the end and we had a fantastic turnout of parents. Well done!
Our new website is coming into its own in this snowy weather. We now have Online Classrooms in the Parents Only section of the website, where our Pre-Prep and Prep teachers can set work, making sure that the children do not fall behind when they are unable to come into school.
Excitement is building! The Reception classes have been rehearsing their Nativity play. FOHOS decorated the school today in their 'Winter Wonderland' theme in preparation for our Christmas Fayre on Friday 26th; it looks beautiful!
