About Us

Hilden Oaks is an independent co-educational day prep school and nursery. It is owned by the Hilden Oaks School Educational Trust Ltd, a charitable trust, which oversees the management of the school and supports the Headmistress to ensure the quality of its provision and its financial stability. The Trustees reinvest any surplus in maintaining and developing both the fabric of the school and its educational provision.

Hilden Oaks operates a nursery and prep school on the same site, which means that we can offer continuity of provision to children from three months to 11 years. Our nursery is open from 07:45 until 18:30 fifty weeks of the year and offers both full and part-time places, providing a flexible pre-school setting for busy families, whatever their needs.

It is expected that the vast majority of children who attend our nursery will progress into the prep school, although occasionally places may become available for children to join the school in Year 1 or above.

The Main school also operates an extended school day and offers a range of clubs and extra-curricular activities when lessons finish, as well as homework club and after school care. This means that working parents do not have to make additional childcare arrangements and their children can spend the whole day with their friends in an environment where they feel safe and happy. Out of term time, a holiday club is offered for children throughout the school with a wide range of activities available.

Hilden Oaks has a long-established reputation as a friendly, family-centred school, which also delivers a high standard of education. Pupils achieve outstanding results at both 11 Plus and Common Entrance, with all pupils securing places at their school of choice, often winning academic and sporting scholarships. The most recent ISI and Ofsted inspections have given both the nursery and the school the highest possible ratings.
