Where is Hilden Oaks School and Nursery?

We are in a quiet residential area in North Tonbridge. A map can be found here

What is the admission age?

Children can be join Hilden Oaks at any age from 3 months to 10 years old.

Do you offer scholarships?

Yes, in the form of bursaries.

What is a bursary?

Assistance towards the cost of school fees. There is more information here

Will my child be eligible for a bursary?

There is no hard and fast rule as bursaries are awarded on the basis of the child’s potential performance plus financial need. Each case is judged on its merits. Please ask for a confidential discussion with the Headmistress or Bursar.

How do I apply for a bursary?

In the first instance, talk to the Headmistress. Thereafter, there are specific forms to be completed and full financial disclosure of household income is required.

What is your policy on co-education?
We are fully co-educational.
Do children follow the National Curriculum at Hilden Oaks?

All subjects in the National Curriculum are covered, but Hilden Oaks also provides additional subjects.

Will my child be able to get extra help with their work?
Children routinely receive an exceptionally high level of support and teacher contact. Additional specialist help is also available through the dedicated Learning Support Teacher for any pupils in need of additional help.

What can you tell me about school inspections?

ISI inspects our Main School and our Early Years provison i.e. Pre-School & Reception Class

How does the Independent Schools Inspectorate rate Hilden Oaks?

Independent schools and nurseries are inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) which uses the same criteria as Ofsted. We have excellent results from the ISI.<

What are your Ofsted results?

Independent schools and nurseries are inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate using the same criteria as Ofsted. Our inspection results are excellent.

Which schools do leavers go on to attend?

School leavers go on to both independent and state secondary (predominantly grammar) schools. A list of leaver destinations for previous years can be found in Leavers' Destinations

Do you offer late and early facilities?

Yes, children can arrive at school from 8.00am onwards; late rooms and after school clubs run until 5.30pm.

Does the school follow a religious faith?

The school is not formally affiliated to any one faith but follows a Christian ethos. We respect the views of all denominations and teach our pupils about these.  Pupils are asked to say grace before meals.

What school sports are available?

Main sports provided include sprinting, tennis, athletics, gymnastics, swimming, rounders, netball, football and hockey.

What are the term dates?
