About UsParent's PagesAdmissionsIn case of snow or or icy road conditions, Hilden Oaks tries to remain open for pupils if at all practical. The safety of people moving around the school grounds is of paramount importance and it may become necessary to close the school.
If there is overnight snow, we will decide whether to open, and whether Late Facilities and After-School Clubs will operate, by 7.15am.
Travelling to Hilden Oaks in severe weather
In severe weather, we understand that parents may decide that it is not safe or practical for their child to attend school, or that they need to collect their child early; please contact the school office if this is the case. We may need to close earlier than usual so that everyone can travel home safely; please check regularly throughout the day during periods of bad weather.
Closing Hilden Oaks early during the school day
If there is snowfall during the school day, please note that Late Facilities and After School Clubs will be cancelled and we may need to close the school early. We will endeavour to notify you, using the methods below, before 1pm.
It is not practical to telephone all parents individually under these circumstances, so we use all the following to let you know what is happening.
Please make sure that the school office is aware if you are unable to use any of these methods during the day.

Please note that KMFM's Kent School Closures is an online reporting system which can be updated easily and that can report us being open as well as closed. Those who register are emailed when their chosen school(s) change status and can can also opt to be texted. Hilden Oaks will only use the text alerts if closing during the school day. Closure or cancellation of late facilities before the start of school will only be announced by email on this service.
Heart and BBC Radio Kent use a telephone system that is only used for closures; they can take a long time to update in bad weather.
